WHERE IS FIVE NAIRA
She passed by few seasons ago
She was small yet pretty to behold
Oh five naira, a philanthropist of the state
In her bag were sweets, chewing gum and pure water
She quenched the thirst of those who thirsted
After the demise of one naira and kobos
But suddenly, they killed her
With a shot from inflation's arrow
They say she's amid the revived denominations
But she's nowhere to be found in transactions
Her presence is inevitable yet in devaluation
In their deceitful claim to a restructured state
There's anguish in the heart of the folks
Ten naira has suddenly replaced five naira
Oh! If five naira is nowhere to be found
We should fear the death of ten naira, someday
At such time, hardship would have grown thorny branches
And tears will drop like a waterfall
Who will save us from these beautiful liars
I kneel before God to bring justice to this land
We're like a flock of sheep without a shepherd
The death of five naira was announced without obituary
